Dixie is PISSED! I will never forget what she taught me about attitude and wrenching.. and what it means to be a biker.. but she only gets out now for memorial runs.. It was that all day fight we had about going to the first local Rodeo (Black had just arrived in her garage 2 weeks before). Its a true story and ya know I gotta tell it..
Me & Dix had certainly had our times over the first 12 years.. but the yups had just started coming around and the local Hoggers were starting up the Ladies group and I hated to see these gals get hurt. I was pres or vice pres or mechanical liason for several years there. Yes, I wore an "Officer of LOH" patch and had a slew of year pins.. I called it my incognito vest.. humm..
Anyway, everyone in this club was riding evos and I road captaining quite a bit and Dix just didn't care for that kinda thing, so I found me a cheap black stock '87 sporty to do the job.. (course Black wasn't stock for long). Now Dix was understandably upset.. maybe she agreed to let Black do the work she didn't like, but I was also dumping cash into his looks and keeping my hands on him instead of her... and showing visitors my new creation.. I vaguely remember her off to the side looking kinda bitchy..
As I said, its was only about 2 weeks later that we were having our first large rodeo down at the lake. It was going to be a lotta old school bikers.. camping, food, games and bands.. a weekend of biker fest.. I was ready! Now, I have never been one for early morns, so I didn't hit the garage till almost 11am that saturday.. but I was late and missing the party! I threw my leg over Dix and.. nothing.. nada.. What tha hell? Tha bitch wouldn't run! She'd tease me just enuf to keep me working at it, but by 2 hours later I was truly pissed..
Why Dix? Whuts up? Come on girl.. big party.. all your favorite guys and gals.. we gonna have a blast! but no go.. Ya mad about Black? He don't mean nothing to me.. Its you I want to take me there.. Hes just a babe.. this is YOUR kinda party! She just sat there like the cold lead she can be.. AGGHH! Ok fine, bitch, you can rot and I'll take the Black! and I did and the rodeo weekend was a blowout!! Very late sunday, my tired butt putted Black up into the garage.. and there she sat.. Damn Dix.. ya missed it.. whats a matter girl.. you shoulda gone..
I walked over to her and hit her just once hoping to hear that old familar sound.. and fire she did! I couldn't believe it! There she was just rumbling pretty as you please.. I can't repeat the words that spewed from my mouth.. who the hell did she think she was?? I shut her down and rolled her back against the back wall.. stay back there and think on it honey.. I ain't took her "out on the town" since.. so who's got the attitude? I know what your thinking.. no, it wasn't fouled plugs or the hundred other easy answers.. it was her against me..
Its rare to see the old choppers, and people always crowd around her. I'm hoping to find someone who would enjoy her as a collectors item only, and not change her design. (your wrench will break trying, or your arm.. I did mention that she IS haunted?) I always wanted the tag "Bar2Bar" as that is the only place she will always agree to go.. Anyway, if you are interested in owning the Hell-Bitch, email me. (P.S. I will surely back out of the deal)

Read the truly Haunting Story of how Dix came into my life..
OK,OK.. some of you took me serious here..--
This was just in case Travis Tritt or somebody just had to have Dix to the tune of 25 grand or so.. I probably would kiss her stubborn ass goodbye and know she would have the life sitting on display in his den.. but then, maybe not.. she IS my life..
So what really happened? ..after our spat and the forced 5-6 years against the back wall of my garage, the ol' girl decided she had enuf! Shes run like a charm ever since and we have burned up the roads for many more summers now.. often with my son on Black alongside! Watching him brings a tear to my eye.. as my "celebration" Beam & Cokes do to his! He just shakes his head at me & I at him..
Hows Dix been behaving lately? Well, this story is over 10 years old.. The grandbabe is 6 now and been riding for 3 years.. and Dix is always his choice for our rides! He looks so dudded up in his leathers and fire skull cap. He loves to singsong along with her roar, and after a long day out its an undescribable feeling with his small head tiredly resting against my back. He never admits that hes beat or that Dix's seat is rock hard.. What a sight we must be putting down the road. (pic in album) If I die tommorrow, I know he will always remember... and know that theres a special peace found only on the road.. and good folks.. and good times. God I love Harleys & this life!
